MARK TEIXEIRA COLLECTION
In December of 2008, Mark Teixeira was signed as a free agent to be the new first basemen of the New York Yankees. His hitting and defense were integral to the Yankees winning their 27th World Championship in his first season with his new club.
Shortly after Tex's signing in New York, I decided to make him my next player collection. I love his work ethic both on and off the field and the comparisons to my other favorite player, Tino Martinez, can't be ignored. Teixeira hits for power and in the clutch, and on the defensive side of the field gobbles up almost everything hit to him.
